Elon Musk gets angry with the FEMA services

Spread the love

Elon Musk recently posted a video and mentioned his feelings about the services provided by the US Government Department FEMA. Elon Musk gets angry with the FEMA and he informs the public that his internet service provider company Starlink engineers are trying to deliver Starlink terminals & supplies to devastated areas in North Carolina. He further tags the @FEMA and writes that FEMA, “is both failing to help AND won’t let others help. This is unconscionable!! They just took this video a few hours ago, where you can see the level of devastation: roads, houses, electricity, water supply, and ground Internet connections completely destroyed. @FEMA wouldn’t let them land to deliver critical supplies … my blood is boiling …”

What caused Elon Musk Angrier?

Hurricane Helene, a powerful Category 4 storm, landed in Florida on the night of September 26, 2024, near the Big Bend region. It caused widespread devastation with life-threatening storm surges, flooding rains, and hurricane-force winds. Thousands of residents were evacuated, and many areas, including Valdosta, Georgia, faced significant impacts after landfall.

Elon Musk lashed out at the FEMA authorities for preventing SpaceX staff from delivering the flood relief packages and supplies. Also, Starlink terminals are less than 15 pounds of weight. These units can provide high-speed internet to around 100 users and connect with the authorities in emergency.

Rumors and other controversies with FEMA

FEMA is under serious attack from some sections of people who are claiming that funds meant for flood relief and disaster response have been diverted to illegal immigrants. It leads to the abandoning of people in East Tennessee. FEMA put an end to all these rumors through its statement on its website:

“No money is being diverted from disaster response needs. FEMA’s disaster response efforts and individual assistance is funded through the Disaster Relief Fund, which is a dedicated fund for disaster efforts. Disaster Relief Fund money has not been diverted to other, non-disaster related efforts”

Also, FEMA cleared the air by explaining that they do not accept cash donations and volunteers for help. Their staff works under the basic protocols. FEMA said, “FEMA does not ask for or generally accept any cash donations or volunteers for disaster response. We do encourage people who want to help to volunteer with or donate cash to reputable voluntary or charitable organizations.”

Statement from President Joe Biden after Helene

Whitehouse.org reads, “I am deeply saddened by the loss of life and devastation caused by Hurricane Helene across the Southeast. As the storm continues to track north, Vice President Harris and I remain focused on life-saving and life-sustaining response and recovery efforts.”

He further writes that, “At my direction, FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell is traveling throughout the Southeast to assess the damage alongside other state and local officials.”

FEMA being a government body has been a disciplined body dedicated to deal with such situations.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)

The official website of FEMA reads, “The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) supports citizens and emergency personnel to build, sustain, and improve the nation’s capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards.”

Here we are repeating some helplines of FEMA and Red Cross to help those in these troubled times. Please help others and spread the word for those in need.
