Minority Leader of the U.S House of Representatives Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday made everybody laugh when he compared former president Donald Trump to an “old boyfriend” who “just won’t go away.” In his maiden speech at Democratic National Convention Jeffries said: “Donald Trump is like an old boyfriend who you broke up with, but he just won’t go away.”
Gus Walz son of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz stole the spotlight when he had an emotional outburst and started crying when his father walked on to the stage and accepted the nomination for Vice President of United States. He said, “We all (are) here tonight for one beautiful simple reason. We love this country.” He praised his government for the jobs accomplished like cutting taxes for middle class, paid family, and medical leave, fighting crime and affordable housing.
He said his rural upbringing helped shape his values. He addressed his kids Gus (son) and Hope(daughter) besides his wife Gwen on the stage and acknowledged their love. He said, “Hope, Gus and Gwen, you are my entire world.” Gus Walz though said to be neurodivergent and has ADHD but visibly a handsome young lad burst into tears and started nodding his head, clapping while getting up from his chair and started saying that he is my dad. It was a very proud moment for him. The clip of him gone viral and people of country have shown so much love for him.
The Trump camp of campaign criticized Tim Walz for exaggerating the emotional side of his family story. They also pointed out his army experience and his football coach duty. Public is waiting for the debate of Vice-Presidential candidates of both the camps- Governor Gus Walz and senator J.D. Vance which will be in the first week of October.
Also, DNC was attended by Former President Bill Clinton with his evergreen charming looks. He criticized Donal Trump by saying that he is paragon of consistency and the consistency is in diving the people, blaming, and belittling other people. He said Trump creates a chaos himself and tries to prove that he is curating it. He sarcastically said that he is good at what he does. He said, “Next time you hear him, don’t count the lies, hear the Is.” He meant by saying this that Donald Trump only speaks and glorifies himself only and when Kamala Harris will be a president it will be you, you, and you.
